Comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, was recently invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on allegations of Naira abuse at a social event, an act classified as a violation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s regulations on currency mutilation.
Taking to Instagram yesterday to update his fans, AY thanked the EFCC for understanding and granting him a pardon after confirming the funds were not linked to criminal or illicit activities.
Describing the experience as a valuable lesson, he pledged to raise awareness about respecting Nigeria’s national currency to avert legal consequences.
