Senate has constituted an 18-member committee to oversee the activities of the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.
Announcing this at yesterday’s plenary, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, named Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as Chairman of the Committee.
Akpabio insisted that the committee’s role was critical in ensuring effective legislative oversight in Rivers State.
A similar committee was earlier set up by the House of Representatives, chaired by Majority Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, yesterday said the National Assembly will soon set up a reconciliation committee to address the political differences in Rivers.
