An Ikeja High Court yesterday dismissed preliminary objections filed by social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, in a ₦1 billion defamation suit filed by human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, rapper Falz.
The suit stems from a video VDM posted in September 2024, allegedly containing defamatory remarks linked to audio by cross-dresser Bobrisky.
Falana and Falz are seeking damages, a public apology, and a perpetual injunction against further defamatory posts.
Justice Fimisola Azeez ruled against VDM’s claim of lack of jurisdiction and ordered him to pay ₦200,000 in costs — ₦100,000 to each claimant.
The court also directed VDM to file his defence before the next hearing on July 8.
