Rapper Doechii, known for her hit “NISSAN ULTIMA,” has cleared the air regarding rumors about her Grammy performance on February 2, 2025. The 26-year-old artist won the Grammy for Best Rap Album but faced accusations of lip-syncing during her performance of “Catfish” and “Denial Is a River.”
In a TikTok video shared on February 15, Doechii responded to the allegations, expressing frustration over the claims. “It’s ridiculous that I have to explain this,” she said, dismissing the accusations. “The voice you heard was my DJ helping with lines I couldn’t hit because I was doing acrobatics.”
Her performance, which included complex choreography and daring stunts, featured her somersaulting off dancers and walking up a human pyramid. Despite her physical exertion, Doechii confirmed that the entire performance was live.
She also revealed she had been battling bronchitis and the flu while performing. “I was sick as hell but still giving it my all,” she explained. “Those beads you heard on the mic at the start? That was me working hard, not lip-syncing.”
