The Federal Government has unveiled the D30 Platform, a national data and investment intelligence hub designed to connect investors, businesses and state governments with opportunities in Nigeria’s creative and tourism economy.

The platform, developed by the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy in partnership with Cavista Technologies, is expected to provide information on creative clusters, tourism assets, infrastructure gaps and potential investment opportunities.

Speaking at the launch on Tuesday, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, said the platform would address the lack of reliable and comprehensive data needed to assess the sector’s economic potential.

Musawa said D30 was designed to help investors identify suitable locations for projects, assess available infrastructure and make informed business decisions.

“D30 is not intended to be another government database that simply accumulates information. Its purpose is to support decisions that help businesses expand, guide investors and enable government to deploy resources more effectively,” she said.

The minister added that the platform would help state governments identify the connectivity and investment requirements of tourism destinations while providing creative entrepreneurs with market intelligence to expand into new markets.

She said the initiative would support the Federal Government’s target of generating $100bn in gross domestic product contribution and creating three million jobs from the creative and tourism economy by 2030.

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Abdulkarim Ozi Ibrahim, described the launch as a milestone in efforts to harness the economic potential of Nigeria’s arts, culture, tourism and creative industries.

He said the platform would strengthen evidence-based policymaking, give investors better visibility into emerging opportunities and provide businesses with information to improve their competitiveness and commercial decisions.

Also speaking, the Executive Director and Vice President, Government and External Affairs at Cavista Holdings, Olumide Olayomi, said reliable data was necessary to expand the sector and attract investment.

“Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, diverse tourism destinations and vibrant creative community offer enormous potential for jobs and wealth creation, but the sector cannot scale without reliable intelligence to track opportunities, assess needs and measure progress,” Olayomi said.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the ministry’s 2030 targets, adding that sustained collaboration between the public and private sectors would be necessary to achieve them.

The Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bureau of Statistics, Adeyemi Adeniran, represented by his Technical Assistant, Moses Waniko, pledged the bureau’s support for the initiative.

Adeniran said the NBS would collaborate with the ministry to improve data collection, harmonise methodologies and ensure compliance with national and international statistical standards.

He noted that the platform’s effectiveness would depend on the quality, consistency, reliability and comparability of the information it provides.

The Special Adviser to the President on Partnerships and Innovation, Imran Garba Duba, also commended those involved in developing the platform, particularly Cavista’s team.

Describing the launch as the beginning of a broader effort, Duba said, “D30 will open doors for Nigeria in ways we cannot fathom. Nigeria has so much to show and so much data and we need to work together.”

The ministry said the platform would provide the intelligence needed to identify investment opportunities, address infrastructure deficiencies and support growth across the creative and tourism value chain under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
