As fuel queues subside across filling stations, the Federal Government says it will sanction marketers hoarding and diverting Premium Motor Spirit.
The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority said on Tuesday that its men were moving around the country to ensure the fuel loaded at the depots was not hoarded or diverted by any individual for any reason.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, has instructed independent marketers to extend their operating time by two hours, until 9pm daily.
Its Public Relations Officer, Chinedu Ukadike, said the new directive expected to remain till June 12, is part of efforts to rein in fuel scarcity and ensure availability of petroleum products before and during the democracy day celebration.
