FG uncovers 32 routes through which food items are smuggled out of the country

The Federal Government says it has uncovered 32 routes through which food items are smuggled out of the Country.

Addressing a conference on Public Wealth Management held in Abuja yesterday, President Bola Tinubu represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said on the midnight of Sunday, 45 trucks loaded with maize were intercepted while making their way to neighbouring countries.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the President assured that the government is trying to resolve the raging economic hardship, while adding that the federal government has a target of raising at least $10 billion in order to increase foreign exchange liquidity that will, in turn, stabilise the Naira.

On his part, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, says the present administration is auditing the N22.7 trillion Ways and Means approved by the government of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
