Ahead of the upcoming off-cycle Governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged political parties to maintain adherence to electoral timelines and foster peaceful conduct during the primaries.

Yakubu who made the disclosure yesterday at the commission’s meeting with Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abuja also commended the diverse outcomes witnessed in bye-elections and rerun polls across 26 states, while lamenting the disruptions witnessed in Enugu and Kano States.

In his address, the National Chairman of (IPAC) Yusuf Dantalle called for stringent adherence to internal party democracy and proposed amendments to electoral laws to enhance the integrity of the electoral process.
