President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met yesterday with members of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN) at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting between the president and council is coming just about 48 hours after the President of SCSN, Sheikh Abdur-Rasheed Hadiyyatullah, expressed regrets for supporting the Tinubu-Shettima same-faith ticket last year.

Speaking with newsmen after meeting with Mr President, the Vice President of the Council, Dr Bashir Umar said that the meeting was to show solidarity and commended the president on the decisions he has been taking on behalf of the country, with calls to him to expedite action to cushion the effect of the hard economic decisions
