NAF’s spokesperson, Air Vice Marshall Edward Gabkwet, disclosed this in a statement yesterday saying the induction ceremony will be performed by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, Makurdi, Benue state.

Gabkwet said the event would signify a major boost to Nigeria’s national defense capability under the current dispensation. 

The Nigerian Airforce took delivery of the first batch of two T-129 ATAK helicopters from Turkey in November 2023.

The T129 ATAK is a tandem-seat, twin-engine, NATO-interoperable attack helicopter optimized for attack, armed reconnaissance, precision strike, and deep strike missions, day and night in all environments and regardless of weather conditions.
